Dance Policy Issue 03 Excerpt
A brief excerpt from @ginabreeze at @homobloc and @homoelectric
What does the rave scene provide for the queer community beyond the event itself? How can its loss be felt in the community?
“The rave scene is LIFE for so many people. It’s more than just the event, it’s the build up, the after parties, the memories. The loss of the events can be felt, hard! Seeing memories pop up pre all this madness is so bittersweet. I’ve felt so many highs and definitely lows throughout this weird COVID wormhole. We need to hug, get sweaty and dance! Release the tensions of the everyday grind. It’s needed so badly.”
*You’re back in the club. What’s the first thing you do?*
“This is my rave head talking. Well first of all, *disco butterflies* So I grab my crew, get a cold beverage and get to the front! I feel like there would be a few, eyes closed appreciation moments. I need to dance and hug my friends. Soon please.”
