Currently reading ‘sonic youth slept on my floor’ by dave haslam and he mentioned playing this tune at a night called ‘Intellectual Humanist Disco with DJ Miserable Dave’. Released back in 1981 on ZE records and Island records - great labels which released a load of interesting no wave funk records in the late 70s / early 80s - check out this wicked greg wilson article if you’re interested! https://www.electrofunkroots.co.uk/articles/punkfunk.html

Was (not was) also feature on the great compilation Disco Not Disco - thanks to Sam for putting me onto this! https://www.discogs.com/Various-Disco-Not-Disco-Leftfield-Disco-Classics-From-The-New-York-Underground/master/79811
