Dance Policy is looking to build a team of contributors, are you interested?

My name is Zak, i’ve been running the Dance Policy platform for the past four years entirely myself. I’ve interviewed DJs such as Ruf Dug, Charlie Dark, Manami, a number of photographers, and collectives. Held talks with people such as grime record label producer, Elijah, Released 7 issues of a physical magazine, done exhibitions in Manchester, Bristol, London and Madrid. Dance Policy has worked with hundreds of different photographers and provided a platform for talented individuals to showcase their work.

I’m looking to build a team of individuals who are:

  • Interested in contributing weekly/monthly (however much) to both the website and social media channels. Particularly in youth culture, both past and present. Please take a look at the articles written on the website and instagram to get an idea.

  • A group of individuals who are interested in running the day to day magazine. Admin, replying to emails, social media insights, finding other guest writers/contributors, looking into article proposals. Insights into making publication self-sustainable.

  • Interested in building partnerships with other magazines/brands/radio stations ertc.

  • Help/knowledge in building a subscription model so we can pay contributors and organisers.

This is the perfect opportunity for a younger individual who is interested in youth culture, fashion and music and looking for experience. I want to make clear Dance Policy never has, and likely never will, make money. I have recently wrestled with the idea of closing the book on this publication but it seemed like a waste to not offer others the opportunity to gain experience and guidance in a tough industry to get into!
